Maureen Denise McCormick was born on August 5 1956 at Woodland Hills California the youngest and only child of Richard and Irene McCormick. She was raised by an aunt who worked as a housewife and a father who worked as a teacher. Michael Dennis Kevin, her two brothers older. McCormick began dancing and singing at an early age and would often perform show-like puppets in front of the kids in her community. Her fairytale rise to fame began when she was crowned the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest in the age group of six, which prompted being contacted by the talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who asked whether she wanted to be in show business. Her first major role came during 1964, which was when she appeared in a television commercial featuring Mattels new Baby Pattaburp doll. The following year she starred in the role of Chatty Cathy in a commercial which was later adapted for The Wind It up and It's Broken at The La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick won a 1969 audition from 1,200 youngsters to be one of the oldest twin daughters in The Brady Bunch TV series The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson as a newlywed and Robert Reed. The show ran for five years. McCormick said in her 2008 memoir Heres the Story : Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice that she was close to having lost her virginity during the fifth season in the presence of Barry Williams, her co-star as well as her on-screen brother. At the time, she was 16, and he was 19. She stated, but the time wasn't the right time for us.
