Shay Mitchell is Canadian actress,model and businesswoman. She is most famous for her character Emily Fields in the Freeform series Pretty Little Liars. When she was a pro at dancing and modeling, she decided to give acting a try and began attending acting classes in Toronto. Mitchell gained commercial roles and guest roles in TV series. The break came, however, when she performed Emily Fields' role in Pretty Little Liars. The critics and the fans alike praised her talents as an actress. The well-known actress made a name for herself in the film industry with films such as DreamlandMother's Dayand The possession of Hannah Grace. She starred in psychological thriller series 'You,it garnered more attention. In addition to acting, she's stepped into the world of writing. Together with Michaela Blayne, Mitchell co-authored an adult novel called Bliss. Shay Mitchell was born on the 10th of April, 1987 and was brought up on the streets of Ontario, Canada to parents Mark Mitchell and Precious Garcia. Her father is an Irish-Scottish man and she has Irish descent. Mitchell is also a cousin of Lea Salonga, a famed music theater performer and actress. Mitchell attended Rockridge Secondary School before moving into West Vancouver Secondary. As she grew older she been employed by various modeling firms across the globe. The model traveled to Barcelona as well as Bangkok before returning to Toronto for a course in acting.
